How to install modpacks

โš ๏ธ

We strongly recommend creating a backup before installing or updating a modpack. Modpack updates can cause world corruption.

Method 1 โ€” Install modpacks from the Modpacks tab

Step 1

Access your Game Panel and navigate to your Minecraft Java server. Once there, go to the Modpacks section in the left sidebar.

Step 2

Use the PROVIDER dropdown to browse modpacks from different sources (CurseForge, Feed The Beast, Modrinth, Technic, Voids Wrath). You can also use the SEARCH field to find a specific modpack by name.

The server type must match the modpack you install. For example, if the modpack uses Forge, your server must be running Forge. You can change the server type from the Versions tab.

Step 3

Once you find the modpack, click the download button on its card to open the installation modal.

Step 4

In the Install Modpack modal, configure the following options before confirming:

  • MODPACK VERSION โ€” select the modpack version you want to install.
  • JAVA VERSION โ€” select the Java version recommended for that Minecraft version.
  • DELETE FILES? โ€” this toggle is enabled by default. Leave it on for a fresh installation. Disable it only if you are updating an existing modpack to preserve your world and configuration files.

Once ready, click Install Modpack to confirm.

Step 5

A green notification will appear confirming that the installation process has started. The panel will automatically download and configure the server files. Monitor the Console tab โ€” once the server is ready, start it from there.

Method 2 โ€” Install modpacks manually using a server pack

Many modpacks offer an official server pack download that includes all the necessary files pre-configured. This method is useful when the modpack is not available in the panel.

Step 1

Download the server pack for your modpack from its official page on CurseForge (opens in a new tab) or Modrinth (opens in a new tab). Server packs are usually labeled as "Server Pack" on the modpack's Files section. Download it as a .zip archive.

Step 2

Stop your server from the Console tab before uploading any files.

Step 3

Go to the Files section in the left sidebar. Upload the server pack .zip by dragging and dropping it into the root directory, or by clicking the Upload button.

Step 4

Once uploaded, right-click the .zip file and select Decompress to extract all files into the server root.

Step 5

Go to the Versions tab and install the modloader version that matches the modpack (e.g., Forge, Fabric, NeoForge). Make sure to disable the DELETE EXISTING FILES? toggle so your extracted server pack files are preserved.

Step 6

Start your server from the Console tab. The modpack will load automatically on startup.

Additional Notes:

  • Modpacks typically include many mods, so startup may take several minutes the first time. This is normal.
  • If the server crashes on startup, check the console logs for errors โ€” a mod may require more RAM than currently allocated.
  • You can increase the server's RAM allocation from the Settings tab.

โœ… That's it! Your modpack has been successfully installed. If you have any problems, contact us via Discord (opens in a new tab) so we can help you.
