How to add a password to your server
Adding a password to your Valheim server prevents random players from joining — only those who know the password can connect.
Step 1
Access your Game Panel and navigate to your Valheim server. Go to the Startup section in the left sidebar.
Step 2
Scroll down to the Startup Variables section and locate the SERVER PASSWORD field. Enter your desired password.
Valheim requires the password to be at least 5 characters and it cannot match the server name.
Step 3
Restart your server from the Console tab for the change to take effect.
